Airborne Use Of Force (Aerial Marksmanship)

ATTS Airborne Use of Force Course (AUOF) is a Three (3) day course that delivers helicopter platform shooting fundamentals to the Law Enforcement/Public Service or Military Professionals while conducting live fire training on an Agency supplied helicopter or an ATTS helicopter.

The AUOF course provides training to the total aircrew required to perform aerial operations. The aircrew will be trained concurrently along with the Rifle Operator utilizing the agency’s Helicopter Pilot(s) as well as Tactical Flight Officer(s). The helicopter aircrew members will receive training in elements such as approach, aircraft positioning, challenge and response shooting protocols, helicopter conning, and emergency procedures.

The objective of this course is to train personnel in the Airborne Use of Force (Aerial Marksmanship) concept. To improve the aerial tactical operations capabilities, while operating from an airborne platform with the goal of protecting the aircraft, its occupants, ground personnel, and the general public. Upon completion of this course, *Participants will be able to safely and effectively carry out airborne use of force duties, in accordance and within the guidelines of their respective agency’s Use of Force Policy, directives and guidelines.

TRAINING PRE-REQUISITES

• Active Tactical Law Enforcement, Military or Public Service Professional

• Authorized by own agency to carry a rifle in their official duties

• Minimum two (2) years of experience in their respective field

• Successfully pass the ATTS ground course of fire.

• Able to follow detailed instructions and operate firearms under the ATTS safety guidelines and protocols.

• Have no current injuries which would preclude the officer from participating in any portion of the ATTS AUOF training course

*If your Agency already has Helicopter and Airborne Use of Force protocols in place, ATTS will work in conjunction to assist and oversee training operations.
